Biography:
Cheryl
Korb masterfully depicts the little details of rural life
with the broad view of the landscape in her folk art
paintings. She uses tiny brush strokes like words, painting
a story in scenes and activities that are familiar and
enchanting.
Cheryl
describes herself as an artist painting to save the farm she
grew up on in Dalton, Pa. She can remember as a child
selling corn on the cob door to door for her farmer father -
fifty cents a dozen. She has raised three children on the
same farm, each now grown with stories of their own (her son
won first prize in a greased pig contest - her name was
Rosie).
Now
that her children are on their own, Cheryl enjoys a
"solitary life" on the farm she share with her
dogs Fiona, Stubby, Nechi and Freckles, her horse Dizzy,
Lyric and Katie, her goat, Benjamin and her artistic
imagination. |
