Biography:
Jill
Swersie has painted professionally for twenty-five years.
Her work has been showcased at the 1199SEIU Gallery in New
York City, at the historic Dutot Museum in Delaware Water
Gap, Pennsylvania, as well as at the Hazelton Art League of
Pennsylvania. Her paintings have also been seen at scores of
restaurants, banks, and businesses, and she has participated
in numerous Pennsylvania and New Jersey solo and group art
shows.
Since
1993 she's been teaching oil painting to senior citizens at
the Dunmore Senior Center in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and at
the Buck Hill Art Association in Buck Hill Falls,
Pennsylvania. She also provides classes for children and
young adults. This summer she will be teaching adults at
Hemlock Farms Community in Lords Valley, Pennsylvania.
Her
style of oil painting ranges from impressionism to realism.
Her subjects include landscapes, still-lifes, animals, and
people. Most popular are her Whimsical People & Animal
Paintings.
